Ferroalloy classification
There are many categories of ferroalloys, according to what standards are divided, let's take a look:
(1) Single ferroalloy. An alloy containing only one alloying element is called a single ferroalloy. Its main varieties are ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferrochrome, ferromolybdenum, ferrotium, ferrolycopene, industrial silicon, ferroboboron, ferrovanadium, manganese metal, etc.;
(2) Composite ferroalloy. Alloys containing two or more alloying elements are called composite ferroalloys. Its main varieties are silicon manganese alloy, silicon calcium alloy, etc.;
(3) Nitrided products. Nitrided products produced by nitriding and other methods under high temperature conditions with ferromanganese or ferrochrome powder. Its main varieties are ferromanganese nitride, ferrochromium nitride, etc.;
(4) Oxide clumps. Oxide clumps that are easily reduced by iron can also be added directly to the molten steel as an alloying agent, such as molybdenum oxide clumps. According to the requirements of steelmaking, countries also have several grades for various products. China's ferroalloy standards (national standards) issued by the state have hundreds of grades. Among the ferroalloy varieties, the production volume of ferroalloys in silicon, manganese and chromium is very large, accounting for more than 90% of the total output of ferroalloys.
